| The pile of rock behind the red pickup contains soft clay Lower Permian Arroyo Fm filling fissures in the hard Ordovician limestone. The quarry is operated for crushed stone. The operators have been letting collectors in for 20+ years. They make piles of likely material out on the quarry floor and direct that visitors stay away from the quarry walls. |
