Jigsaw Puzzles from 2007 Show Photos
Save to your hard drive; save partially solved puzzles
Photos by Steve Blyskal

There are two mineral photos--one was used in the 2007 HGMS Show Postcard (rhodochrosite), and the other was used in the 2007 HGMS Poster (spinel on marble). These two puzzles have 100 pieces each. The other two puzzles are of the same photo (Kathy Konkel and John Caldyne bidding on the same item during the Pre-Show Pizza Party), but they are of two different difficulty levels--one has around 50 pieces and the other around 200 pieces. Right now the puzzle version is unregistered. I've paid for it, but the key they sent me doesn't work.  I'm attempting to get that straightened out.

The icons across the top of the jigsaw puzzle screen perform various tasks. Run the mouse cursor over them for information. Some of the puzzle pieces are rotated. Right-clicking a piece will rotate it 90º each click. One of the icons at the top of the screen also will orient the piece correctly. Clicking on the eye icon displays the finished puzzle. Clicking on it again hides the image. One icon allows you to save partially played puzzles for finishing another time--if you have saved them to your hard drive. There's also an icon that will join a selected piece to an adjacent piece, and an icon that automatically solves the puzzle.

The software makes executable files--that's why you are asked if you wish to run the file or save it. To run it on the Web site, just click on the default value that it offers. However, I recommend that you create a directory (folder) called Puzzles on your hard drive. Save the puzzles to that location and play them there. Just BE SURE you know where you save the puzzles so you can find them later!

The Webmaster would appreciate feedback about what you like or dislike about these puzzles. Contact her at webmaster@hgms.org.
