Norman Lenz
--
Gemstone Inclusions--Good and Bad: Norm will give a presentation on inclusions that sometimes can be found in faceted gems. Inclusions in gemstones are fascinating and can add to the value of the gem as well as detract from it. This should prove to be an interesting program.

Norm Lenz Bio...
  • Graduated in 1973 from Missouri State University with a BS in Geology
  • Worked for Western Geophysical and Schlumberger doing oil exploration for 30 years including 7 years overseas assignments
  • Worked as a consultant for ExxonMobil for 3 years
  • Served as Show Chair, Faceting Section Chair, Secretary, Vice President, and President for the Houston Gem and Mineral Society
  • Owner of Collectors Gems

For many years Norm and his wife Susan both were very active members in the club (see above biography), but two years ago Susan was diagnosed with a brain tumor. They have been battling the situation and are now winning. This will be Norman (and Susan's) first return to a General Meeting during that time, and many of their good friends will want to be present to welcome them back.
